Instructions
Prepare the Oven and Ingredients:
- Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) to preheat.
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper.Â
Blend the Dry Ingredients:
- In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt, whisking until everything is thoroughly mixed. Set aside for later.
Cream the Butter and Sugar:
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until the mixture becomes light and fluffy.
- Add eggs and mix
- Stir in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures:
- Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing to prevent tough cookies.
- If you are adding extras such as chocolate chips or nuts, fold them in at this stage.
Shape and Bake the Cookies:
- Use a spoon or cookie scoop to form dough balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, keeping each about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges turn a light golden brown while the centers are still soft.
Notes
- For chewier cookies, slightly underbake them.
