Description

A delicious and wholesome homemade apple and cinnamon cereal that combines the natural sweetness of apples with the warmth of cinnamon and the crunch of whole grains. Perfect for a healthy breakfast or snack, and it’s easy to customize with your favorite ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup dried apple slices (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional, for added crunch)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil or butter (melted)
  • 1/4 cup flaxseeds or chia seeds (optional, for added fiber)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  • Mix dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, dried apple slices, cinnamon, salt, and any optional seeds or nuts.
  • Mix wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix the applesauce, honey or maple syrup (if using), melted coconut oil or butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Combine wet and dry: Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir well to coat everything evenly.
  • Spread and bake: Spread the mixture evenly onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 25–30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes to ensure even toasting.
  • Cool and store: Once golden brown, remove the cereal from the oven and let it cool completely.
